  • Is MultipliX really different from other games which make learning the multiplication tables fun ?

MultipliX si flexible. It is simple, it can be played by 2, 3 or 4 players, and the games are short (about a quarter of an hour). They can alternate with the extensions, training mental arithmetic by addition or subtraction.
MultipliX is a competition game, bringing together the opponents, not with their knowledge, but with their luck, using cards and a die. Desire to win or to get revenge, bring an interest and a pleasure that children always enjoy. MultipliX is also a board game, bringing together young and older people. You will perhaps discover that for many adults a little revision is not useless.

  • Must a child know the multiplication tables, to play MultipliX?

The tables are means to play MultipliX and mastering them is the goal to reach. You don't need MulitpliX if not just for fun. If you know them perfectly (congratulations!), you don’t need MultipliX, if not for the fun. Nevertheless, it is better knowing at least the first tables. The problem concerns high figures (6, 7, 8 and 9) and the consequent confusions. A child who would not know the product of two numbers given by the cards, could ask for help from his or her adversary (and nevertheless friend), or consult the crib sheet, page 4 of the booklet.

  • Does MultipliX exempt you from learning the multiplication tables with the traditional drill and practise method?

MultipliX doesn’t pretend to substitute schoolwork. It accompanies and completes it and makes practising the tables fun. It doesn't make effort exempt, this a way of learning a child musn't do without.

  • Was MultipliX already tested?

Of course, it was designed to help a child who, in spite of daily recitations, couldn’t quite keep the tables in memory and in the end hated them. The form of the game allowed him to practise the tables with pleasure and, if we can say, without toil. Moreover, the experience proves that even children who have pursued brilliant studies later in life can have met difficulties mastering this abstract knowledge.
